Pink Gala a success!

The Pink Gala was a success! Our turn out was wonderful, the donations exquisite, and the auction bidding generous. We were able to raise $137,005 for Pink Ribbon! I would like to thank the following designers, builders, and animators who generously donated items for auction:

• Glorious Praises go to Una Ewing, and Connie Molinaro of the Ewing Fashion Agency! If it weren’t for their hard work putting together Fashion Week, none of this would have been possible.

The evening was amazing! The SS. Galaxy is 3 sims long, so you can only imagine what they would have to offer in terms of delights. Our Art Show was held in the beautiful Nova Straaf Gallary, which was designed with as much attention as RL Galleries are. Correct lighting, proper placement of walls, and the color- a deep rich red which really showed off the play of light and shadows in the intense work of Ahz Senior. Ahz Senior is an RL artist whose work has been brought inworld, where he has launched his place in the Second Life art community and is well received. The Gala itself was a delightful sea of pink, and if one knows their fashion–a virtual display of Second Life’s hottest designers in pink formal wear. Even the gentleman graciously graced us with their fined tuned evening wear with pink accents.

The venue, SS Galaxy, was quite a awesome thing all on its own. One of the best kept secrets in Second Life. Where else can you find the amenities that they have to offer? A floating mini city of ballrooms, for-hire staterooms, a theater, ice rink, pool, spa, basketball, skeet shooting, skydiving, (deep breath) holodeck, cuddle garden, bars, restaurants, conference rooms, and wedding chapels.

I marveled at the fun to be had onboard when I received group announcements for Take It Or Leave It, and innertube races around the ship, if you are seriously bored, or looking for a place to call home, or have your event, look no furthur.

And lastly, I would like to thank all our guests for coming and sharing this evening. We hope to see all of you at our next party.

The Cafe Society hosts an art show and Pink Gala

The Cafe Society is comprised of various members of Fashion Emergency, and Fashion Consolidated Cafe. We are all dressed up looking to enjoy la dolce secundo vita! As we all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and with such a good cause at hand The Cafe Society on a whim decided to launch a Pink Gala the first official group event.

We have chosen the SS Galaxy as the perfect place to party the night away. The SS Galaxy is a full size, full scaled, and full featured cruise ship in SL. The SS Galaxy is anchored in the Sagittaria Estate, and spans 3 sims with more than 8 decks of fun and entertainment.

We have partnered with real life artist and Second Life resident Ahz Senior, currently featured on SLNN, and working with the Ewing Fashion Agency to create a magical and rewarding evening for the public and to help raise funds for Pink Ribbon.

The festivities kick off Friday, October 19th, 2007 at 7 pm SLT on the ship’s Nova Straaf Gallery with an art show featuring the work of Ahz Senior. The artist has created a special piece just for the occasion to be auctioned during the Pink Gala’s charity auction which immediately follows the art show in the Zodiac Ballroom.

Designers, Animators, and Builders from across the grid, like Adam N Eve, Animazoo Animations, Essensual Designs, Gurl 6, Ingenue, Maitreya, Designing Nicky Ree, Treasured Visions, and many more have quite generously donated items to be auctioned off. The public is invited to attend. The Cafe Society would like to remind guests to come dance the night away in Pink Gowns, and Black Tie (pink ties are encouraged gents!) formal wear.

The Cafe Society would like to thank everyone at the SS. Galaxy-Nova Straaf, Mercedes Lassard, and a big thanks to the SS Galaxy Crew for without them this event would not have been possible. We thank the magnificent Ahz Senior for his time, and talent. Glorious thanks to the Ewing Fashion Agency and Second Style for bringing us all together in this worthy cause.
